The Trustees of the Funds

The Trustees of the Funds (ToTF) is an elected board of Episcopal church members that oversees professionally managed investment portfolios benefiting the churches and organizations in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

We help church organizations deliver their ministries by providing active investment management of their funds to protect and increase their value—using investments aligned with the mission of the Episcopal Church.

PERFORMANCE

Net of Management Fees

As of December 31, 2023

NOTE – individual account performance may vary from overall funds data above as additions and withdrawals affect actual performance.

Active Management

ToTF affords our participants (investors) with the benefit of funds managed by high quality investment managers. The ToTF Funds are managed by professionals who are experts in specific sectors of the financial markets and overseen by the ToTF Trustees, as advised by our investment consultant, LCG Associates.

Cost-Effective

Our participants benefit from reduced investment costs due to economies of scale. The per share fees are less on the combined ToTF investments than any one participant organization would receive.

Transparent

Investing with the ToTF eliminates potential conflict of interest issues that sometimes arise in churches. Rather than favoring the investment advice of parishioner A who is a banker, or parishioner B who is a stockbroker, investing the church’s funds with ToTF ensures the money is invested without any conflicts of interest.

Episcopal

Investing with the ToTF provides our participants with active financial management of their investments by the Board of the Trustees of the Funds (all Episcopalians) in accordance with the mission-aligned investment guidelines of the Episcopal Church. Investing with the ToTF benefits other Episcopal churches and organizations as the ToTF management cost is spread further across more participants.
